Hello all. Hi, for those feeling festive. We’re nearing the end of the semester, so I’ve got some lovely little updates!
One, GTS has been advertising phishing awareness and technology recycling this month. For those familiar with one Ms. Juanita, you know what I’m talking about. We hope that this tabling will be effective because of 1. The recent phishing attack leaked to the student body and 2. Getting recycling items as students move out at the end of the year.
GTS has also written up a Technology Plan for the department going forward, which I’ve personally reviewed along with our Co-Presidents!! It’s lovely to see some solid plans for the future, so a huge shoutout to Jerry Nowell and everyone else at GTS I’ve worked with this year!!
On a broader scale, Student Senate had its last meeting for the year! We made sure to wrap up all budget approvals for ’25-’26, sent out final end-of-year communications to students, and much, much more. Be sure to read the Gavel Gazette for more detailed information, or VIEW it because we’re doing videos this month!
You may have already seen the email today, but we’ve also got voting today in Moodle! We’re redistributing our stipends among our Student Senate cabinet to be more equitable, but we still need approval from the Senate body to make that change real. Go vote!
That’s about all I’ve gotta say for now! I’ve been selected to be Technology Chair next year, so this isn’t the last you’ll hear from me >:]
