Hello! The Tech Committee’s been hard at work making life for students better. This includes making parts of student life as smooth and easily accessible as possible.
Some of you may remember how this year’s Student Senate election was, well, a bit of a mess. While it’s partially on me for being new to the software, it’s also true that our current software is considerably outdated. Additionally, the ‘Years in Residence’ option is not an adequate metric for electing class representatives, which is why we’ll hopefully be moving forward to use a student’s specified graduation year. Election mishaps are not a new problem, so we’ve been working with Gustavus Technology Services to develop new software for future elections. Hopefully, we’ll see the new election software implemented by Spring!
And, the Readership Program! Currently, the information is listed as a PDF in a single blog post (the previous one.) To make the information more permanent, I plan to give the program its own dedicated page on the Senate site. I’ve already got it written up, I just need to get some approval checks and it’ll be good to go. Look out for that soon!
